Philosophy

As a child, I loved to draw and paint. When it came time to go to college, it seemed only natural that I would choose an art education. After studying illustration, photography, and graphic design, I graduated and found myself drawn to the world of computer graphics and the fledgling field of user interface design.

Fast forward fifteen years and I had become the Director of User Experience for Adobe Systems, Inc. I was overseeing an organization of over 100 product design and user research staff. We were responsible for creating the designs for all of Adobe's software (including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, etc.). This was an exciting, fast-pasted and ever-changing world. There was just one problem. I really missed doing hands-on design!

This was how I found myself going back to school to study interior design. I had always been passionate about decorating. I had always loved working directly with clients. I also had an entrepreneurial spirit and day dreamed about opening a home-based consulting business.

Now the story comes full circle. I am back to my creative roots but with the added benefit of a lot of business experience. I believe I have found the perfect career for me and I get to spend quality time with my family, too.
